A Royal Night Out

“V-E Day, 1945. Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret escape the palace for...”

Princess Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) is nineteen and dutiful, and she has spent the war behind palace walls doing what she is told. On VE Day in 1945, her father (Rupert Everett) lets her and her sister Margaret (Bel Powley) slip out to join the celebrations, with two officers assigned to keep watch. Julian Jarrold sends them into one night of London crowds and trouble, and Elizabeth finds out how far she will go when no one is watching.
