A Self-Made Hero
At the end of World War II, Albert Dehousse (Mathieu Kassovitz) learns that his father was no war hero and that his mother collaborated. Jacques Audiard follows the young man as he sets about building a past for himself out of other people's stories. Jean-Louis Trintignant plays the older Albert, whose voice carries the telling, and the war's last smoke hangs behind him.
