A Study in Terror

“Sherlock Holmes meets Jack the Ripper! Here comes the original caped crusader!”

Sherlock Holmes (John Neville) wants an answer to the killings in Whitechapel, and he works toward it by dropping every suspect he can disprove. Two women are dead, and the trail he follows runs through a pawn shop, a hospital and the stately home of a titled family, with Doctor Watson (Donald Houston) at his shoulder. Director James Hill treats the case as a ledger of small observed details, each one set down in order before the next is allowed to count.
