A Sun-Tribe Myth from the Bakumatsu Era
Saheji (Frankie Sakai) can't pay his bill at a high-class brothel, so the house keeps him on as a debtor. Yūzō Kawashima sets the film in the last days of the shogunate, and Saheji runs errands for the women and the guests around him, taking a commission on every job. The shogunate is coming apart, and Saheji treats it as a market.
