A Thousand and One Nights

(1969)Directed by Eiichi Yamamoto130 minAnimation, Drama, Fantasy, Horror

Aldin (Yukio Aoshima) is a vagabond water vendor wandering the Middle East with nothing to his name but a hunger for love, fortune and power. Each road he takes leads to another fantastical, tragic misadventure, among them a genie (Haruko Katō) and the woman Miriam (Kyôko Kishida). Eiichi Yamamoto, working from an idea by Osamu Tezuka, draws it as adult animation in the first of the Animerama films.
