“Christmas comes prematurely.”

Harold Lee (John Cho) has a steady job, a wife and a house, and six years have passed since he last saw Kumar Patel (Kal Penn). Then Kumar turns up on the doorstep at Christmas with a mysterious package, and the tree belonging to Harold's father-in-law goes up in flames. Todd Strauss-Schulson sends them across New York in search of a replacement and shoots the whole trip in 3D, so everything on screen comes flying at the audience.
