A Very Private Affair

“A Story of the Heartbreaks...Behind the Big Breaks!”

Jill (Brigitte Bardot) is a movie star whose private life has been taken over by fans who follow her, crowd her and watch her from the street. Fabio Rinaldi (Marcello Mastroianni), once her mother's lover, steps in to offer her protection. Louis Malle, directing, gives the story one plain question: how much of a person is left when everyone feels entitled to look.
