A Warning to the Curious

Paxton (Peter Vaughan) arrives in the coastal town of Seaburgh and sets about digging for one of the lost crowns of Anglia, which legend says guards the county from invasion. He finds it, and from then on its supernatural guardian follows him. Lawrence Gordon Clark adapts M. R. James, and the film leaves Paxton walking the sea front, glancing behind him at the figure that keeps its distance.
