A Woman of Affairs

(1928)Directed by Clarence Brown91 minDrama, Romance
“Wild Desire! Burning Lips! Racing Hearts!”

In 1928, three childhood friends grow up into a tangle of wants: Diana Merrick (Greta Garbo) and Neville Holderness (John Gilbert) have loved each other for years, while David Furness (Johnny Mack Brown) stands close by. Clarence Brown follows Diana after her father blocks the match and she marries David, then after a loss that sends her adrift. The story keeps coming back to how long a person can carry love for someone they were never allowed to have.
