A World Without Thieves

Why does a young carpenter, Sha Gen (Wang Baoqiang), carry his life savings home on a long train west, sure that no one will steal it? Wang Bo (Andy Lau) and Wang Li (René Liu), a couple who pick pockets for a living, take that belief as a dare. Feng Xiaogang sets them beside him in the cramped carriage, and Sha Gen's money sits in a cloth bundle he never lets go of.
