Michael Vasanth (Suriya) is a small-time goon who wants to be somebody, and he has found a politician willing to use him on the way up. Mani Ratnam sets him beside Inbasekaran (R. Madhavan), a student leader trying to keep politicians out of the college elections, and Arjun Balakrishnan (Siddharth), who only wants to settle abroad. An incident on a bridge pulls the three together, and Michael is left holding the cost of what he reached for.
