Abbott and Costello Go to Mars

(1953)Directed by Charles Lamont77 minComedy, Science Fiction
“They're too wild for one world!”

Orville (Lou Costello) is a nervous, round-faced fellow who wanders into a rocket launch beside his partner Lester (Bud Abbott) and sets the thing off by accident. Instead of Mars, the ship drops them into Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and bank robber Mugsy (Horace McMahon) and his pal Harry then force them to fly it again, toward Venus. Charles Lamont keeps Orville bewildered at every stop, whether among the crowds or in a civilization of women.
