Abel

Abel (Christopher Ruiz-Esparza) is nine years old and has not spoken in a long time, and the doctors have no explanation for it. Then he starts acting as the man of the house in his absent father's place, and his mother and siblings settle into the new arrangement. Diego Luna directs this first feature without fuss, letting the family's small routines carry the story.
