A group of old university friends leaves Tehran for a weekend picnic in the north of Iran, and Sepideh (Golshifteh Farahani) has invited Elly (Taraneh Alidoosti), her daughter's kindergarten teacher, hoping to set her up with Ahmad (Shahab Hosseini). Asghar Farhadi follows the families through the first easy hours of the trip, the shared meals and the borrowed villa. Then Elly is missing, and the group stands on the shoreline, calling her name.
