About Fate

“Love appears where you least expect it.”

One stormy New Year's Eve, two strangers who both believe in love, though neither has ever found what it really means, end up in each other's path. Margot Hayes (Emma Roberts) and Griffin Reed (Thomas Mann) arrive with other people waiting on them. Maryus Vaysberg, remaking the old Soviet television film The Irony of Fate, puts the two of them in the same room and lets the night close in around them.
