About Joan

Joan Verra (Isabelle Huppert) wants to be left alone with her own past, but a figure from it has reemerged and she can't get any distance from him. She takes her son Nathan out to the countryside, where fragments of her earlier loves begin to surface, with Freya Mavor playing the younger Joan. Laurent Larivière follows her through those scattered recollections, and Joan holds on to each one as though it were still hers to keep.
