Above Suspicion

(1943)Directed by Richard Thorpe90 minThriller
“It happened on a honeymoon!”

Frances Myles (Joan Crawford) and her husband Richard (Fred MacMurray) are newlyweds, and their honeymoon in Europe is a cover for the British Secret Service. They travel as ordinary tourists while gathering information on the Nazis, and every friendly stranger could be a threat. Richard Thorpe keeps the pace brisk and the mood tight, so that even small talk over dinner carries a charge.
