“Welcome to the world of your dreams!”

Colin (Eddie O'Connell) is a nineteen-year-old photographer in late 1950s London who wants Suzette (Patsy Kensit), a model whose affections follow her climb in the fashion world. To keep up with her, he gets mixed in with Vendice Partners (David Bowie), a pop promoter. Julien Temple sets it to music while racial tension builds in Colin's Notting Hill estate. A young man's ambition and his neighbourhood's trouble are pulling him in opposite directions.
