Absolute Power

“Corrupts absolutely.”

Luther Whitney (Clint Eastwood) is an aging master thief who wants one more clean job, a quiet walk through a rich man's empty house. He is inside the vault room when a woman is killed in front of him by Secret Service agents, and President Richmond (Gene Hackman) is part of it. Eastwood directs it with a patient, steady eye, and lets the chase tighten without hurrying.
