“The answers we seek are just outside our reach.”

Roy McBride (Brad Pitt), an astronaut known for his composure under pressure, learns that his father (Tommy Lee Jones), long presumed dead on a distant space station, may still be alive. He launches toward the edge of the solar system to find him, unsure whether he is on a rescue mission or pursuing a ghost. The farther Roy travels from Earth, the more he understands that some distances between people cannot be crossed, no matter how far you go.
