Adalen 31

Kjell Andersson (Peter Schildt) is a teenager in a Swedish sawmill district in 1931, living with his parents and watching them hold on through a labor dispute. Bo Widerberg keeps the story close to Kjell's family and to a young woman he is drawn to, Anna Björklund (Marie De Geer). Soldiers are brought into Ådalen as the strikers' demonstration approaches, and the lives of the town stand on the line.
