Adam's Rib

(1949)Directed by George Cukor101 minComedy, Romance
“It's The Hilarious Answer To Who Wears The Pants!”

In 1949, Adam Bonner (Spencer Tracy) and Amanda Bonner (Katharine Hepburn) are married lawyers who go to work each morning on the same side of the breakfast table. Then Doris Attinger (Judy Holliday) is charged with attempted murder after shooting her husband, Warren (Tom Ewell), and George Cukor puts the two lawyers on opposite sides of the case. The quarrel that follows is about the law, but it is also about what each of them is owed by the other.
