Afraid of the Dark

“You can't escape what you can't see.”

Lucas (Ben Keyworth), a young boy, can't stop thinking about blindness and violence, and the thoughts follow him through each day at home. His father Frank (James Fox) and mother Miriam (Fanny Ardant) live close by, but Lucas keeps drifting into a world of his own making, which Mark Peploe films as it takes hold of him. As the delusions thicken, the distance between the boy and his parents is what the film keeps coming back to.
