After

“After your first, life is never the same.”

Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) arrives at college with her plans in order: a steady boyfriend back home, a mother who keeps close watch, and a semester mapped out in advance. Then she meets Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), a brooding student who doesn't act like anyone in her circle. Jenny Gage builds the story around a girl discovering that wanting a life she was never taught to want can change how she sees herself.
