After Dark, My Sweet

“All they risked was everything.”

Kevin "Kid" Collins (Jason Patric) is a drifter with a fighting past, walking out of nowhere into a quiet stretch of desert. He ends up in the orbit of Fay Anderson (Rachel Ward), a widow with a drinking habit, and Garrett "Uncle Bud" Stoker (Bruce Dern), an ex-cop with a scheme to kidnap a wealthy child. James Foley, adapting Jim Thompson's novel, keeps the pull between Kid and Fay tense and unspoken.
