After Love

The day after she buries her husband, Mary (Joanna Scanlan) takes the ferry from Dover to Calais, twenty-one miles across the Channel, to find the secret he kept there. She arrives at the home of Geneviève (Nathalie Richard) and ends up inside it, introduced as a cleaner. Aleem Khan, in his first feature, keeps the camera close and holds the long silences.
