Roberto (Hernán Mendoza) packs up and moves to Mexico City with his teenage daughter Alejandra (Tessa Ía), taking a new job in a restaurant kitchen while she starts at a new school. Michel Franco, in his Cannes prize-winning drama, keeps the camera at a distance and the days ordinary. Father and daughter are left to carry the same unspoken loss into rooms where neither can reach the other.
