After the Wedding

(2019)Directed by Bart Freundlich110 min · PG-13Drama
“Every family has a secret”

Isabel (Michelle Williams) flies from the orphanage she runs in India to New York, hoping to win a donation from Theresa (Julianne Moore), a wealthy benefactor. Then Theresa invites her to a family wedding, and the visit stops being about money. Bart Freundlich keeps the past pressing on every conversation, and the film is about what people owe the children they have kept and the ones they have not.
