After Yang

“The future has never looked so human.”

In a near future, Jake (Colin Farrell) and his wife Kyra (Jodie Turner-Smith) have raised their adopted daughter Mika (Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja) alongside Yang (Justin H. Min), an android who is more brother than appliance. When Yang stops responding, Jake carries him from one repair shop to the next, turning up more of the life the household has been living. Kogonada edits in long, still frames, and Ryuichi Sakamoto's score does the rest.
