“Some icons are meant to fly.”

Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon) is a Nike basketball scout in 1984, running a division that trails far behind Converse and Adidas. His boss Phil Knight (Ben Affleck) has a small budget, and Sonny decides to put all of it on one rookie, Michael Jordan. Affleck keeps the office scenes quick and the phone calls tense, while Sonny stakes his job on a long shot that nobody else at Nike believes in.
