Air America

“The few. The proud. The totally insane.”

Billy Covington (Robert Downey Jr.), a young pilot who has just lost his license, is recruited by Air America, the CIA's private airline in Laos during the Vietnam War. He lands among veteran flyers, and his friend Gene Ryack (Mel Gibson) is already running guns on the side. Roger Spottiswoode builds the film on the two men's quick, bickering loyalty, as each keeps covering for the other.
