“GIANTS OF THE SKY...blazing a trail to victory!”

Tail Gunner Joe Winocki (John Garfield) wants out of the gun turret and a shot at flying fighters, but his orders put him back aboard a B-17 bound for Pearl Harbor. Howard Hawks follows the crew, with John Ridgely and Gig Young up front, as they land in the wreckage the day after the Japanese attack. They are sent on to Manila with the Philippines next, and Winocki still has his own plans.
