Air Force One

(1997)Directed by Wolfgang Petersen124 min · RAction, Thriller
“The fate of the nation rests on the courage of one man.”

President James Marshall (Harrison Ford) is a former soldier who has sworn never to bargain with terrorists. Then Russian neo-nationalists led by Ivan Korshunov (Gary Oldman) take over Air Force One with his wife Grace (Wendy Crewson) and daughter Alice (Liesel Matthews) aboard. The demand is the release of their imprisoned dictator, and the film keeps asking whether a leader's principles still hold when the hostages are his own family.
