Cincinnati, Ohio, 1993 is a long way from the California surf where Mitchell Goosen (Shane McDermott) grew up, and he lands there when his parents leave for Australia for work. He moves in with his Aunt Irene (Edie McClurg) and his cousin Wiley (Seth Green), who show him around a high school with bullies, girls and very little respect to go around. Rob Bowman puts Mitchell on inline skates, the surfer's blond hair streaming behind him.
