Airplane!

“What's slower than a speeding bullet, and able to hit tall buildings at a single bound?”

A Los Angeles to Chicago flight takes off in 1980 with a full cabin and a former fighter pilot, Ted Striker (Robert Hays), sitting nervously in coach, trying to win back his ex-girlfriend, flight attendant Elaine Dickinson (Julie Hagerty). Then the fish dinner goes around, and the crew falls ill. Jim Abrahams, Jerry Zucker and David Zucker fill the plane with puns and deadpan lines, and Ted, who swore off flying, ends up the only one who can land it.
