Ali & Ava

Ali (Adeel Akhtar) drives Ava (Claire Rushbrook) home through the rain one afternoon after she's walked a child he knows out of school, and the lift turns into a habit of sitting together in his car. He is a landlord, she is a teaching assistant, and they come from different worlds that have no easy way of meeting. Clio Barnard lets two people with years of private hurt behind them take their time deciding whether to say what they feel.
