Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

This 1972 Turkish telling of the old tale puts Ali Baba (Sadri Alışık) in the middle of the familiar story of a band of forty thieves and the cave they guard. Nuri Ergün directs a cast that includes Feri Cansel as Mihriban, Hulusi Kentmen as the Emir and Güzin Özipek as Sıdıka. Sadri Alışık plays Ali Baba as a cheerful, ordinary man, and he stays that way even as the legend closes around him.
