Alice Adams

(1935)Directed by George Stevens99 minRomance, Drama
“Twenty-two and wonderful ... as Booth Tarkington's loveliest heroine!”

Money keeps the Adams family from the comfortable life they perform. Virgil (Fred Stone) and Walter (Frank Albertson) are content enough working at the drugstore, but Alice (Katharine Hepburn) and her mother push for a place in better society, whatever the snubs. When Alice meets Arthur (Fred MacMurray), her mother plans a grand dinner, and George Stevens films the evening so closely you feel every second of it.
