Alice and Martin

Martin grows up in the countryside after being sent as a small boy to live with his wealthy father, the industrialist who fathered him with a hairdresser. Years later he flees that house under troubled circumstances and turns up at the Paris door of Alice (Juliette Binoche), a violinist living with his half-brother. André Téchiné lets the two fall into each other's lives, and Martin carries a troubled past he can't leave on the doorstep.
