Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
“A movie for everyone who has ever dreamed of a second chance.”
Alice Hyatt (Ellen Burstyn) packs up her car after her husband dies and drives her young son Tommy (Alfred Lutter) out of their small New Mexico town, aiming for California and a career as a singer. The money runs out in Arizona, so she ends up carrying plates at a diner. Martin Scorsese follows a widow learning, one job and one stranger at a time, that she has to decide for herself who she is.
