Alien

“In space no one can hear you scream.”

Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is a warrant officer aboard the Nostromo, a commercial ship hauling cargo home to Earth with a crew of seven asleep in their pods. Woken early by a distress signal from a distant planet, Dallas (Tom Skerritt) sends a team down to look, and Ridley Scott keeps the ship's corridors cramped, wet and badly lit. The film is about ordinary workers who answer a call, bring an alien parasite back aboard, and have nowhere to go.
