Ali's Wedding

“Is there such a thing as a good lie?”

Ali (Osamah Sami), the eldest son of a Muslim cleric in Melbourne, tells one white lie to get out of trouble and ends up engaged to a woman he's never met. The trouble is Dianne (Helana Sawires), a Lebanese-Australian girl he's already fallen for. Jeffrey Walker keeps the camera close on Ali as the lie gets heavier, a nervous, musical young man in a loose collar, his father's hand on his shoulder.
