All Is Bright

“All is busted. All is broke. All is bitter. All is BRIGHT.”

Dennis Girard (Paul Giamatti) and Rene Upiter (Paul Rudd) drive down from Quebec to New York City with a plan to sell Christmas trees and come out ahead. Phil Morrison puts the two men on a cold city lot, one gruff and the other cheerful, with Olga (Sally Hawkins) and Therese Girard (Amy Landecker) tied to what each of them left behind. Underneath the holiday scramble, it is a story about men who are broke and lonely and trying to stay decent.
