All or Nothing

Mike Leigh sets All or Nothing in present-day London, among three working-class families living close enough to hear each other through the walls. Penny (Lesley Manville) works a supermarket till and Phil (Timothy Spall) drives a taxi, a gentle man in a marriage where her love has run dry. Their daughter Rachel cleans for a living and their son Rory, unemployed and quick to anger, sits at home, and Phil carries all of it without a word.
