All the Little Animals

“On this earth, in this land, we are all here for a reason.”

Bobby Platt (Christian Bale), a young man who has never been easy in the world, leaves home to get away from his stepfather, Bernard De Winter (Daniel Benzali), who has killed his pets. On the road he meets Mr. Summers (John Hurt), an old man who stops to bury animals left dead by cars. Jeremy Thomas follows the two as Bobby starts helping with the burials, and a quiet trust forms between the boy and the man.
