All Three of Us

In Iran under the shah, then under the ayatollah, Hibat Tabib (Kheiron) and Fereshteh (Leïla Bekhti) build a family while the country turns on people like them. Kheiron, making his directorial debut, tells his parents' story as a comedy, with prison and beatings treated as plainly as the jokes. Every year in Iran puts the three of them closer to losing each other, and France is still ahead.
