Along the Great Divide

Marshal Len Merrick (Kirk Douglas) cuts Timothy "Pop" Keith (Walter Brennan) down from a lynching at the hands of the Roden clan, and sets out to bring him to Santa Loma for trial. Raoul Walsh sends them across the desert with Keith's daughter Ann (Virginia Mayo), while Ned Roden, still grieving his dead son Ed, follows behind. Under all the riding is a plain question about whether the law means anything out here, or only whoever gets to the prisoner first.
