Always

“They couldn't hear him. They couldn't see him. But he was there when they needed him... Even after he was gone.”

Pete Sandich (Richard Dreyfuss) flies a firefighting plane over burning forest, a loud, cocky pilot who is deeply in love with Dorinda Durston (Holly Hunter). After he dies, Pete turns up as a spirit assigned to coach Ted Baker (Brad Johnson), a green young pilot. Steven Spielberg moves the old wartime story into aerial firefighting, and it comes down to whether a man can stand to watch someone he loves go on without him.
