“Accountancy, Murder, Amnesia, Torture, Ecstasy, Understanding, Redemption”

Isabelle (Isabelle Huppert) is a former nun trying to make a living writing pornography, and so far nobody will buy it. One night she takes in a stranger (Martin Donovan) who has woken in an alley, bleeding and unable to remember his own name. Hal Hartley sets the two of them in a coffee shop's plain light, where the man sits with a bandaged head and a cup in front of him.
