Amazing Grace

“Behind the song you love is a story you will never forget.”

In the 1780s, British ships carry thousands of captives across the Atlantic, and the trade is woven so deeply into the economy that few in Parliament will question it. William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd), a young member of the House of Commons, takes up the cause with Olaudah Equiano (Youssou N'Dour) beside him. Michael Apted follows a man whose health, friendships and place in government are all on the table every time he stands to speak.
